Domaine des Grandes Expérances
The resurgence of Touraine
Domaine des Grandes Espérances is located in the village of Mesland, in the heart of Touraine. With its sights set firmly on the future, the estate is committed to an organic wine-growing approach, now certified by Ecocert. The estate’s extensive varietal range combined with the inspired, long-term input of Arnaud and Laurent Saget produce joyful, generous wines. Domaine des Grandes Espérances extends over 24 hectares and offers up a range of Touraine wines. The reds are crafted from Cabernet franc, Malbec (or Côt), Gamay and Pinot noir and are drawn from soils mainly formed of sand and gravel. The whites are made from Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay and thrive on soils with higher silica content. Domaine des Grandes Espérances has four distinct product lines: our buddy wines, single cuvee, sparkling wines and grape juice. The reds are accessible, ample and charming wines for sharing, whilst the whites are mineral and generous. The Crémant de Loire and Touraine sparkling wines add a touch of poetry and freshness, and the grape juice from Sauvignon blanc and Gamay offer fun-loving appeal to both children and adults.

The environmental respect
Our adherence to the Terra Vitis scheme for close to 10 years has changed our viticultural practices considerably. Although short pruning, de-budding and leaf stripping were already being practiced, the tilling of the soil, the grassing of some plots, green harvesting and the use of certified products are more recent practices which each day help us to obtain a healthy, higher quality harvest. The Domaine maintains its momentum and is now certified organic since 2019.
